Fairview FCSS operates the Family & Community Resource Centre in the Fairview Provincial Building in room #126-(the second right door on the main floor from west entrance) commonly confused with Children’s Services ( first right door, main floor provincial building from west side). The Resource Centre provides information and referral services for resources available locally that can address residents social needs. As well as application assistance for many government programs. Including: Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age, Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Support (GIS), Senior’s Financial Assistance, Alberta Special Needs Assistance, Dental and Optical for Seniors, Blue Cross, Seniors Home Adaptation and Repair Program (SHARP), CPP Disability, Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), Survivors Benefits and Alberta Health Care and others as requested. The Centre receives thousands of requests for service annually, with walk ins, phone calls and emails. In 2021, the Centre had 2,714 requests for service.
